Trip to Netherlands

Anthony P Postiglione Jr

Anthony P Postglione Jr says that with museums, quirky hotels, a thriving food scene, photogenic spots on every corner, hipster cafes and historic sites, Holland is a country full of gems of all kinds. The most famous city is Amsterdam, and many other beautiful cities to discover.

Boat down the canals of Amsterdam, experience the world’s largest flower parade in Zundert, surf the Scheveningen Beach in The Hague and eat cheese at his market in Woerden. Endless fun wherever you go.

The best season to visit Holland is from April to August and mid December to early January. In spring, tulips bloom everywhere, and in summer, sidewalk cafes bustle with the magnificent view.

Popular tourist attractions such as the Anne Frank House and the Van Gogh Museum have long lines due to the season.

In December there is a Christmas market, ice skating and a parade. January to March and September to the end of November are colder, grayer and showerier than usual. But that means less crowds and cheaper prices! This is one of the best times to visit the Anne Frank House and other top attractions.

Anthony Postiglione Jr says that there are few thing that should be under consideration before visiting Netherlands:

  • Petty crime, such as pickpocketing and bag snatching is common. Drink spiking is also a risk.
  • Take care of your belongings, particularly at tourist spots and on public transport.
  • Watch out for thieves who pose as plain clothes police officers.
