Denmark is often touted as the world’s happiest country. It is not difficult to see why almost as soon as you arrive. Denmark is also a land of kind and friendly people, a flat and green landscape dotted with blue lakes.
Anthony P Postiglione Jr says Hygge is all about the simple joys in life when you are at most safe, cozy, happy and warm. Strolling through the quit streets of Odense or drinking white wine in the sun outside a pub in Nyhavn, Copenhagen. That’s all hygge and Anthony P Postiglione Jr loves it.
Anthony P Postiglione Jr states that Liquorice may prove divisive amongst most people, but if you are someone who likes it, you will like the danish food. Even the chocolate from supermarkets is full of liquorice! There are Morgensnegle which are to die for. Then there is Noma, the world’s greatest restaurant which you can find in Copenhagen.
Anthony P Postiglione Jr says that the best time to visit Denmark is spring, summer and autumn months when the flowers are out, the days are long and the rolling green hills can be enjoyed to their fullest. He says you will be able to enjoy the coastlines, beaches and lakes.
Anthony P Postiglione Jr says there are few things you should not do while visiting Denmark like;
- While walking around Denmark you will notice locals are patiently waiting for the green traffic light before crossing the street, even though it’s 4am, it is snowing and there are no cars to be found in the foreseeable distance. Danes never jaywalk because they are taught from an early age. Jaywalking can and will earn violators a fine of 700 DKK. So make sure to stand on the pavement until the green traffic light comes on.
- Unquestionably, cycling around Denmark is the greatest way to find its hidden gems. But be careful to know the rules before you ride the two-wheeled vehicle. Locals utilize their bikes from a young age because of their strong bicycling culture, and they abide by certain guidelines to prevent accidents. Before heading to the congested city center, it is a good idea to practice using the hand signals in a smaller alley. Another important thing to remember is that riding a bike drunk can cost you a fine of 1500 DKK.
- Do not interact with Dane’s dogs because Danes prefer to be left alone unless they signal otherwise. Anthony Postiglione Jr says even if the temptation hit you pat a fluffy dog it’s better to admire it from afar.
