Winter sports can be dangerous, or even fatal. Some mountainous areas of Alberta and British Columbia experience avalanches. It is not safe to ski, snowboard and ride skidoos on closed trails.
If you plan to do a winter sport or activity:
- Do not enter closed trails.
- Tell friends or family where you are going and when you expect to return.
- Follow the advice of local authorities.
- Take official warnings seriously.
