Trip to Canada

Anthony P Postiglione Jr

Anthony P Postiglione Jr quotes that Canada is one of those countries that continuously finds itself on “top 10’ destination lists. Whether it’s for the country’s incredible natural beauty, delicious food, mountain resorts, unique diverse culture or unbeatable road trips Canada has it all!

Generally the best time to visit is during the fall months of August and September, as the weather has cooled down a bit, but it’s still comfortable for outdoor activities. Plus, the summer crowds have left, prices have dropped and the foliage is starting to change color.

Winter usually spans from October to March, though sometimes it can last up until April. Vancouver gets very little snow, while Montreal is typically freezing cold!

Safety

  • Canada can experience severe weather. This includes tornadoes and hurricanes in summer and extreme cold, ice and heavy snowfalls in winter.
  • Bears and other dangerous wildlife live in forested areas.
  • Theft from cars is common in larger cities. Do not leave valuables in your car.
  • Petty crime can occur in tourist areas and on public transport. Look after your belongings.
  • Credit card scams and fraud occur. Check your bank statement often.

Winter Sports

Winter sports can be dangerous, or even fatal. Some mountainous areas of Alberta and British Columbia experience avalanches. It is not safe to ski, snowboard and ride skidoos on closed trails.

If you plan to do a winter sport or activity:

  • Do not enter closed trails.
  • Tell friends or family where you are going and when you expect to return.
  • Follow the advice of local authorities.
  • Take official warnings seriously.
